THE FIRST TIME USER EXPERIENCE

Onboarding your users can be hard process. If it’s the process is to long, users get board and if it’s too short users end up in you app not know what to do. But there is still information that needs to be collected. We decided to engage the users in a fun, interactive and intuitive F.T.U.E that would educate and entertain.

Fling is a young start-up with big ideas for disrupting the social media industry by providing our users with a gateway into other peoples lives. We’ve done this by creating the first truly random social media app that allows anyone from anywhere and share their moments.

Stickers are cool...

To make Fling unique from other social platforms the team decided to create an animated sticker set for our in app chat system. The stickers were based on the apps mascot and brand. The goal was to make the very over exaggerated and to comical.

reFling

Fling allowed people to re-fling content similar to Twitters retweet it boosted a post back out to 50 random users and their followers. This allowed content on the app to go viral. We wanted to encourage users to re-fling so we create a couple of button animations to encourage and delight the user,

reFresh Like a Boss

Allowing the user to pull more content into the app is one of the most important interactions. If we make the interaction fun and engaging then the user isn’t only hooked by the content but by the way they ask the app for new content.

Aaaand it's out of here...

Sending is a very important part of Fling, no other social app allows users to distribute content around the world at random, but how do we make the intangible tangible? A call to action with the word “send” on it falls short at at communicating the concept clearly. So here’s what we came up with.
